Ushi Must Marry

This is the opening title sequence Lukkien made for Ushi Must Marry (directed by Paul Ruven). It was shot in the studios of Lukkien and directed by Martijn Smits.  Because of Ushi’s Japanese background the art of origami seemed a nice cultural reference and visually interesting concept. We used a handmodel who was instructed by a professional Origami-artist. We prepared “beauty” versions of all the designs which took a total of 11 hours to make.

After editing I added the beams in the background, the titles, the particles and animated Ushi’s head. In this movie the music is the demo-version, the final music was altered here and there and sound effects were added.

 

And this is the intro for a teaser we made for Ushi Must Marry, a feature film starring Wendy van Dijk. Reinier Reynhout created the ring and I took care of the editing and compositing. The footage of Wendy was directed by Martijn Smits.
