Two dirty cops, one intern and 918 visual effects shots
Popoz is a comedy series on Comedy Central created by Martijn Smits and Erwin van den Eshof. It centers on two dirty cops and an intern who wish their job would be more like a Hollywood action movie. So that’s exactly what we gave them: the pilot, two seasons and a movie, packed with over-the-top action VFX.

Comedy Central picked up the pilot in 2013 and the first season premiered on November 3rd. Popoz became the best watched Dutch show on Comedy Central in 3 years. Season 1 had 251 visual effect shots.

The show was renewed for a second season, which aired on November 3rd, 2014. Season 2 had 245 visual effect shots.

A motion picture followed in the fall of 2015, with 422 visual effect shots: a total screen time of 20 min 51 sec and 19 frames. For the movie we even built a miniature replica of The Night Watch, just to completely destroy it. Popoz was nominated for the NVX Best Visual Effects Award at the 2015 Dutch Film Festival.
